The LMS Is Not Where Learning Happens
The platform matters, but learning happens when people return to work with better questions, clearer practice and useful support.

Platform decisions absorb an unreasonable share of the attention in learning projects. They are visible, expensive and procurement-shaped, so they feel strategic.
A platform does a few useful things: it hosts, it tracks, it distributes, it proves compliance. Those are logistics. Useful logistics — but logistics.
The learning happens somewhere else:
- in the first real attempt at the task;
- in the conversation with a colleague who has done it before;
- in the correction that arrives soon enough to matter;
- in the second attempt.
None of that lives in the platform. It lives in the work, and in whether the surrounding system makes practice possible.
Choose the platform for logistics. Design the ecosystem for capability.
A reasonable test before a migration: if the new system arrived tomorrow, what would change about how people actually practise? If the answer is "nothing", the project is an infrastructure project, and should be named as one.
